Geocaching is a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices and then share their experiences online. It's a great way to get the family out for a little exercise and family fun. Plus you get to see parts of the world that you might have just passed along the wayside. Geocaching.com lists hundreds of geocaches within easy driving distance to our area -- and now Vernon Tourism is getting in on the action. Our first cache has been hidden and now we're just gonna sit back
Vernon Parish has plans in place for more geocaching clues, so check back often and see how it's going. If you'd prefer not to join the Geocaching site until you've tried it out, just stop by our office and pick up all the necessary information. We'll be glad to see you!
If you're not quite sure how to get started geocaching, check out these videos from the Geocaching.com website. Go ahead and sign up for the free membership just to check it out, then visit our member page on Geocaching.com to get all the information you'll need to find our very first cache. It's fun for the whole family.
